The Surgeries
Dr Thomas Olivelle  (B.D.S, F.I.C.O.I)

Dr Olivelle qualified at Guys Hospital, London and worked part-time as a Clinical Assistant in the Oral Maxillofacial department at St John's Hospital, Chelmsford whilst establishing his own practice in St Albans. During this time, he also gained his fellowship of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (FICOI).

In 2005 he moved to Devon and joined the Budleigh Salterton Dental Practice as an Associate and a year later he became fully committed to the practice, as a dental partner with Dr Paul Maslen. His surgery is modern and bright and even offers DVD viewing from the dental chair!

Dr Olivelle takes the utmost pride in his work and adopts a professional and caring manner. He is dedicated to providing the very best quality of dental care and treatment and has a keen interest in Oral Surgery, in particular all aspects surrounding the placement of dental implants, including perio-surgery (the gums), and oral enhancement/reconstruction. He regularly attends courses worldwide to ensure that he stays on top of the knowledge in the advancement of dentistry and is currently in the process of obtaining an MSc in Implantology.

Dr Paul Maslen  (B.D.S, L.D.S, R.C.S)

Dr Paul Maslen trained at The Royal London Hospital. He was awarded the Oral Surgery prize and became an Oral Surgery House Surgeon. After three years as an Associate in Cheltenham he moved to Budleigh Salterton where he has practised dentistry for over 20 years. During this time he has been on the North and East Devon Local Dental Committee and was Chairman of the Exeter branch of the British Dental Association, (BDA).

Hygienist

We have an excellent Dental Hygienist who has been with the practice for several years. She is trained in all aspects of gum disease prevention, including scaling and polishing of teeth and advising on oral hygiene. Generally, Dr Olivelle will refer patients to the Hygienist for regular maintenance and oral hygiene programmes after he has carried out a check up.

A range of oral hygiene products, recommended by the dentists and hygienist are available to purchase at reception.
